Statement of Faith of the Ottawa Christian Health Centre Property Management Corporation (OCHC)

The Ottawa Christian Health Centre (OCHC) is a Christian community committed to supporting traditional Christian bioethics, with particular emphasis on the sanctity of all human life, from conception to natural death.

We affirm love, compassion, and dignity as guiding values in our mission and work. All members and directors of OCHC affirm the following Statement of Faith, which provides the theological foundation of our organization:

1. There is one eternal God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, the Son, is God revealed in human form.
2. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, divine works, sacrificial death for humanity's sins, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, ongoing intercessory role, and future return in power and glory.
3. Salvation is available to all through faith in Jesus Christ and the merits of His shed blood. This salvation brings spiritual renewal through the work of the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers to live holy lives, to share the gospel, and to serve Christ faithfully.
4. Every human being is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity and worth.
5. Human life is a sacred gift from God, and its value is not determined by age, ability, or circumstance. From fertilization onward, each individual is known and cherished by God.
6. We affirm the sanctity of life at every stage and seek to uphold the dignity of every person, including the unborn, the vulnerable, the needy, and the elderly.
7. We are committed to honouring life until its natural end, caring for and defending those who are vulnerable, and rejecting all forms of violence, abuse, neglect, or practices that diminish and harm a human life. Instead, we uphold compassion, justice, and hope in our community.
8. We are called to protect and cherish life in all its forms and to act as responsible stewards in preserving its dignity and worth.
